Softball Recap: San Antonio Christian Takes a Loss

San Antonio Christian blew Providence Catholic out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Providence Catholic got their revenge. The San Antonio Christian Lions fell just short of the Providence Catholic Provets by a score of 3-1. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Lions couldn't push the score so high this time.

Brianna Vick spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

San Antonio Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. The victory made it two in a row for Providence Catholic and bumps their season record up to 4-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. San Antonio Christian will welcome Poteet at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Poteet will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for Providence Catholic, they will host St. Joseph at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. St. Joseph's pitching crew has only allowed 1.8 runs per game this season, so Providence Catholic's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
