Softball Recap: Jefferson Davis Academy Comes Up Short

Jefferson Davis Academy came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 16-1 to the Colleton Prep Academy War Hawks. The Raiders haven't had much luck with the War Hawks recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Jefferson Davis Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kinlee Ray, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Ray has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

Jefferson Davis Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Colleton Prep Academy, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-7.

Coming up, Jefferson Davis Academy will venture away from home to challenge Orangeburg-Wilkinson at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Colleton Prep Academy, they will host Hilton Head Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. This will be Hilton Head Prep's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
