Basketball Game Preview: Royal Highlanders vs. Magnolia Sentinels

Having just played yesterday, the Royal Highlanders will jump right back in to play the Magnolia Sentinels at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Royal is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.

Royal had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 33-point drubbing they dealt Del Sol on Friday. The Highlanders claimed a resounding 47-14 victory over the Jaguars. That 33 point margin sets a new team best for the Highlanders this season.

Royal's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mikaela Jones, who posted 15 points. Another player making a difference was Paige Larango, who scored 13 points.

Magnolia played against Hueneme on Friday and won via forfeit.

Magnolia's record now sits at 2-4. As for Royal, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Royal and Magnolia were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, but Royal came up empty-handed after a 1-0 loss. Can the Highlanders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
