Platteview has gone  a perfect 10-0 against Douglas County West recently and they'll look to pad the win column further  on Friday. The Platteview Trojans will host the Douglas County West Falcon  at 5:30  p.m.
Last Tuesday, Platteview came up short against Seward  and fell  59-46. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings  (they are ranked 159th, while the Bluejays are ranked 33rd).
 Despite the  defeat, Platteview saw an underclassman step up: sophomore  Hadley Fahrenbruch  went 6-for-7  to rack up 15  points and five  rebounds. That's the most points  Fahrenbruch has posted since back in December of 2024.  Alexys Mandel was another key player,  putting up nine  points.
Douglas County West played in conference for the first time  on Tuesday and they got just the result they we're looking for. They put the hurt on Conestoga with a sharp  59-38 victory. The  win continues a trend for the Falcon in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won seven in a row.
 Platteview better keep an eye on  Ava Grimm. She was instrumental in Douglas County West's win,  shooting 4-for-7  from downtown and  dropping  a double-double with 16 points and 11  boards. Grimm is becoming a predictor of Douglas County West's success: when she posts  at  least eight  rebounds the team is 2-1 (and 7-11 when she doesn't). Another player making a difference was  Bella Zach, who  earned five  points and five  boards.
 Platteview's loss dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Douglas County West, their victory bumped their record up to 9-12.
