Basketball Recap: Ridgeline Takes Down Ranked Green Canyon

On Wednesday, Ridgeline faced Green Canyon in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Ridgeline Riverhawks managed a 58-54 win over the Green Canyon Wolves. This was payback for the Riverhawks, who suffered a 67-64 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Ridgeline's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dawson Low, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 15 points and three steals. Low has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Harrison Putnam, who posted ten points and five rebounds.

Despite the loss, Green Canyon still got an impressive performance from Jude Haigh, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 19 points and six boards. That was a full 35.2% of Green Canyon's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's put up more than a third of the team's points. Lance Cox was another key player, putting up eight points and five assists.

Ridgeline's record is now 11-4. As for Green Canyon, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-1.

Ridgeline wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 59-48 win against Bear River on the 10th. As for Green Canyon, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 69-61 victory against Judge Memorial Catholic on the 10th.
