Softball Game Preview: Clinton Maroons vs. St. Teresa Bulldogs

The Clinton Maroons will head out to face off against the St. Teresa Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Clinton has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 26.

On Friday, Clinton came up short against Central A & M and fell 11-6.

Avery Smith made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Hadley Humble also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Meanwhile, St. Teresa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Meridian.

St. Teresa's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Clinton, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.

Clinton skirted past St. Teresa 3-2 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Maroons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
