Basketball Game Preview: River Forest Ingots vs. Lowell Red Devils

The River Forest Ingots will venture away from home to challenge the Lowell Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. River Forest will be strutting in after a win while Lowell will be coming in after a loss.

Last Saturday, everything went River Forest's way against North Newton as River Forest made off with a 62-38 victory. The Ingots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Lowell suffered their biggest defeat since December 27, 2024 on Saturday. They had to suffer through a 61-34 loss at the hands of Munster. The Red Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

River Forest will need to focus on slowing down Ryan Grskovich, one of several Lowell players who made an impact when they last played. He posted eight points and three steals. Grskovich is becoming a predictor of Lowell's success: when he posts at least three steals the team is 2-1 (and 8-10 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Carter, who scored ten points.

Lowell now has a losing record of 10-11. As for River Forest, they pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

River Forest skirted past Lowell 56-53 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Lowell's Jacob Viehman, who went 7-for-13 to rack up 24 points and six rebounds.
