Softball Recap: Olmsted Owls vs. Hutchinson-Central Tech Engineers
Olmsted couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell victim to a tough 25-13 defeat at the hands of the Hutchinson-Central Tech Engineers on Tuesday. Olmsted was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Hutchinson-Central Tech apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.
Olmsted got a massive performance out of Riley Blake, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Julia Jordan, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Olmsted will head out on the road to challenge Lewis J. Bennett at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Olmsted is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road dating back to last season. Hutchinson-Central Tech does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
