Soccer Game Preview: Woodmore vs. Eastwood

The Woodmore Wildcats will head out to take on the Eastwood Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Woodmore is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

Woodmore is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They fell 5-3 to Cory-Rawson on Monday. The contest was a 2-2 toss-up at halftime, but Woodmore couldn't quite close it out.

They hit Cory-Rawson with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Ryne Donley, Landyn Sipe, and Blake Avers.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Eastwood, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Port Clinton on Saturday, sneaking past 4-3. Considering Eastwood's offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

With the victory, Eastwood broke their three-match losing streak and moved their record to 6-5-1. As for Woodmore, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Woodmore beat Eastwood 3-1 when the teams last played back in September of 2022. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
