Preview: Lincoln County Red Devils vs. Wilkinson County Warriors
The Lincoln County Red Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Wilkinson County Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Lincoln County was fully in charge, breezing past Towns County 42-7 on the road. Given Lincoln County's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 219th, while Towns County is ranked 448th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lincoln County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jonathan Norman led the charge by rushing for 82 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Lincoln County also got a significant boost from Semaj Jenkins, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 92 yards.
Meanwhile, Wilkinson County got the win against Glascock County on Friday by a conclusive 47-27. The win made it back-to-back wins for Wilkinson County.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 6-4.
Everything came up roses for Lincoln County against Wilkinson County in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 as the squad secured a 42-8 victory. Will Lincoln County repeat their success, or does Wilkinson County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
