Volleyball Recap: Toronto Red Knights vs. Magnolia Blue Eagles

The Toronto Red Knights didn't have quite enough to beat the Magnolia Blue Eagles on Monday and fell 2-1. While the Red Knights didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Blue Eagles 25-12 in the first set.

Toronto actually scored more points across those three sets (68-62), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 12-25, 25-20, 25-23.

Kylie Mitchell paced Toronto's offense, picking up ten kills. Mitchell got some help from Danielle Sutherin and her 13 assists. Sydney Fisher controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Toronto's loss ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-13. As for Magnolia, their win ended an eight-match drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-10.

Looking ahead, Toronto will take on Catholic Central at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Magnolia, after both having extra time off, they and Brooke will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
