Volleyball Game Preview: Westlake Thunder vs. Lone Peak Knights

The Westlake Thunder will square off against the Lone Peak Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Westlake will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.

Westlake is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Pleasant Grove, who was ranked 15th at the time (Westlake was ranked fourth). The Thunder were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Vikings on Tuesday.

Westlake never let Pleasant Grove on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-19, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Lone Peak came up short against Lehi on Tuesday and fell 3-1.

Lone Peak couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Lehi a tough time in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 31-29, 22-25, 25-23, 25-18.

Westlake pushed their record up to 20-5 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Lone Peak, their loss dropped their record down to 19-6.

Everything went Westlake's way against Lone Peak when the teams last played two weeks ago, as Westlake made off with a 3-0 win. Do the Thunder have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
