Baseball Recap: Silsbee Victorious

It was a proper cat-fight when Silsbee took on Anahuac on Saturday. The Tigers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Panthers, sneaking past 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tigers have posted since March 14, 2025.

Josh Lawson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ryder Blythe, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. That stolen base was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Perdue, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one run.

Silsbee has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-1-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. Having lost for the first time this season, Anahuac fell to 4-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Silsbee will square off against Woodville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Anahuac, they will face off against Baytown Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
