Basketball Game Preview: Houston Tigers vs. Thayer Bobcats

Houston hasn't had much luck against Thayer recently, but that could start to change on Monday. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Houston Tigers duke it out with the Thayer Bobcats at 7:30 p.m.

Houston is headed into Monday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Saturday. They took a hard 71-54 fall against Liberty. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 368th, while the Eagles are ranked 118th).

Meanwhile, Thayer waltzed into their contest last Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They took their game with ease, bagging an 82-40 victory over the Tigers. The Bobcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 25 points or more this season.

Thayer's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points per game. As for Houston, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.

Houston took a serious blow against Thayer in their previous matchup last Thursday, falling 82-40. Can Houston avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
