Football Recap: Moon Valley Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Moon Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. The matchup between the Rockets and the Northwest Christian Crusaders didn't end well, with the Rockets falling 31-12. The Rockets lost against the Crusaders in their previous head to head back in October of 2020, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 58-6 score last time.

Northwest Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Nathan Johannes out in front who rushed for 178 yards and two TDs while picking up 9.4 yards per carry. With that strong performance, Johannes is now averaging an impressive 103.8 rushing yards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Laki Wallwork, who threw for 179 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Moon Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Northwest Christian, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Moon Valley will challenge Marcos de Niza at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Rockets' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Northwest Christian, they will square off against Thunderbird at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Crusaders will need to watch out since the Titans have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
