Preview: Holy Name Green Wave vs. Bay Rockets

Holy Name and Bay are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2017, but not for long. The Holy Name Green Wave will be playing at home against the Bay Rockets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Holy Name has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 838 points over their last 12 matches.

Holy Name put the finishing touches on their fourth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 73-46 victory over Buckeye. Given Holy Name's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 230th, while Buckeye is ranked 701st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bay suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They fell just short of Cuyahoga Heights by a score of 50-47. Bay has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Evan Alexy, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Cockburn, who scored nine points along with two steals.

Holy Name's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Bay, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Holy Name came up short against Bay in their previous meeting back in January of 2021, falling 80-75. Will Holy Name have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
