Volleyball Recap: New Albany Comes Up Short

New Albany lost against Lincoln on April 1st, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Eagles fell 3-1 to the Lions.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Lincoln scored at least 21 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 22-25, 25-23, 25-23.

Michael Botkin paced New Albany's offense, picking up 11 kills. Botkin got some help from Austin Noreikis and his 31 assists. Noreikis was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

New Albany's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Lincoln, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-2.

Looking ahead, New Albany is taking a road trip to face off against Reynoldsburg at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles are facing the Raiders at the right time seeing as the Raiders are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Lincoln, they will host Dublin Coffman at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
