Basketball Recap: Da'marcus Sloan's Big Game Can't Quite Lead North Shore over Humble

North Shore was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 72-56 to the Humble Wildcats. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Da'Marcus Sloan, who posted 12 points and three steals. Jeremiah Gray was another key player, putting up nine points and seven boards.

Even though they lost, North Shore smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

North Shore now has a losing record at 13-14. As for Humble, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-11.

North Shore didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 45-41 loss against Kingwood on the 18th. As for Humble, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, an 81-53 victory against Channelview on the 18th.
