Baseball Game Preview: Prairie Falcons vs. Kelso Hilanders

For the second straight game, Prairie will face off against Kelso. The Falcons will face off against the Hilanders at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Prairie is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

Kelso's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Thursday: Prairie hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Falcons never let the Hilanders get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Tuesday.

Michael Rovig tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Prairie saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Camren McCray, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Those two hits gave McCray a new career-high.

Prairie pushed their record up to 11-6 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Kelso, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-5 record this season.
