Baseball Recap: Payette Comes Up Short

Payette managed to slip by Cole Valley Christian the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Pirates came up short against the Chargers on Monday, falling 8-1. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chargers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Darrien Pecunia made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Payette's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Cole Valley Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.

While Payette had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
