Football Recap: Loretto Starts Season with Defeat at Home + How To Watch

Loretto unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 38-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cornersville Bulldogs on Friday.

Cornersville can attribute much of their success to Jackson Smith, who rushed for 117 yards and one score on only 13 carries. Those 117 rushing yards gave Smith a new career-high.

Loretto wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 48-0 defeat against Lawrence County on the 29th. As for Cornersville, they have also already played their next game, a 31-0 win against Collinwood on the 29th.
