Basketball Recap: Conneaut Comes Up Short

Conneaut was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss. They took a blow against the St. John Fighting Herald, falling 70-31. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Fighting Herald this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 72-63 back in January.

Conneaut's defeat dropped their record down to 1-18. As for St. John, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-8 record this season.

Coming up, Conneaut will challenge Maplewood at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for St. John, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Crestwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. John knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Crestwood likes a good challenge.
