Softball Recap: Christ Our Rock Lutheran Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Christ Our Rock Lutheran had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Bobcats. The Silver Stallions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bobcats, too.

Peyton Jett and Emma Williamson were a major factor no matter where they played. On the mound, Jett tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Williamson pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits any time she's pitched this season. At the plate, Jett went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one stolen base, while Williamson scored three runs while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Kylie Nalewajka was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. Alayna French was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Christ Our Rock Lutheran hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City struck out seven times.

Christ Our Rock Lutheran's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, their loss was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Christ Our Rock Lutheran beat the Bobcats by a score of 18-1 later that day.
