Phillipsburg hadn't done well against Easton Area recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Stateliners narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Rovers 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Stateliners have posted since October 3, 2024.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Phillipsburg got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-14, 12-25, 25-23, 22-25, 15-12.

Despite the loss, Easton Area still got an impressive performance from Jaymee Knox, who had 27 digs. Gianna Koch also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.

Phillipsburg's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Easton Area, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-7-2.
