Basketball Recap: Liberty Patriots vs. Centennial Bulldogs
On Monday, the Liberty Patriots faced the Centennial Bulldogs in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Liberty ended up on the wrong side of a rough 73-49 walloping at the hands of the Bulldogs. Liberty has struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as their game on Monday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alofa Eteuini, who scored 17 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Eteuini has scored all season. Satsuki Bradley was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Liberty's defeat dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Centennial, their win was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Liberty will challenge the Jaguars at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Desert Pines is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Centennial, they will head out on the road to face off against the Grizzlies at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Spring Valley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nevada Rankings (they are ranked 35th, while the Bulldogs are ranked second).
