Trinity Prep hasn't had much luck against Orangewood Christian recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Trinity Prep Saints will be playing in front of their home fans against the Orangewood Christian Rams at 6:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.
Trinity Prep will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Windermere Prep on Thursday. Trinity Prep blew past Windermere Prep 18-5. The win continues a trend for the Saints in their matchups with the Lakers: they've now won eight in a row.
Isaac Robinson was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Robinson was even better at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. He also hit a hit, marking his first of the season.
In other batting news, Alton Gunther was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Aiden Stillman, who scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Trinity Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .629. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Orangewood Christian made easy work of Edgewater on Friday and carried off a 9-2 victory. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by seven runs or more this season.
The team relied heavily on Jack Benson, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Wendorf, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Orangewood Christian's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Trinity Prep, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Trinity Prep has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Orangewood Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
