Softball Recap: Governor Thomas Johnson Comes Up Short

Governor Thomas Johnson extended their losing streak to five on Wednesday, dropping them down to 2-14. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 11-10 heartbreaker at the hands of the Frederick Cadets. Even if the Patriots couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

As for Frederick, their victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-17. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Frederick's part, Kadence Clingan was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave Clingan a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nia Fields, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Governor Thomas Johnson has already played their next matchup (against North Hagerstown), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Frederick, they have also already played their next contest, a 13-1 loss against Tuscarora on the 1st.
