Preview: Wheatmore Warriors vs. East Davidson Golden Eagles

Wheatmore is 9-1 against East Davidson since November of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Wheatmore Warriors will look to defend their home court against the East Davidson Golden Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Wheatmore is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.

Wheatmore managed to keep up with North Davidson until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Wheatmore's tough 58-37 loss to North Davidson might stick with them for a while. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Wheatmore has scored all season.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Gavin Strickland, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Strickland also pulled down eight+ rebounds for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Parker Kines, who scored 13 points along with three steals.

Even though East Davidson has not done well against Ledford recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. East Davidson escaped with a win against Ledford by the margin of a single free throw, 53-52. The win made it back-to-back wins for East Davidson.

Wheatmore's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for East Davidson, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.
