Monsignor McClancy extends home losing streak to three

Recap: Monsignor McClancy Crusaders vs. Fordham Prep Rams

The Monsignor McClancy Crusaders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They fell 66-59 to Fordham Prep. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Monsignor McClancy in their matchups with Fordham Prep: they've now lost seven in a row.

Fordham Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ryan Jackson led the charge by scoring 22 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Those five rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Matthew Kapfer was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds.

Monsignor McClancy's defeat was their third straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-4. As for Fordham Prep, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monsignor McClancy will take on St. Edmund Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. St. Edmund Prep has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Fordham Prep, they will be playing at home against Salesian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Salesian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 650th, while Fordham Prep is ranked 127th).
