Recap: Marion County Red Raiders vs. Brilliant Tigers
The Marion County Red Raiders can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent contest on Monday. They really took it to Brilliant for the full four quarters, racking up a 73-40 victory at home. The win was some much needed relief for Marion County as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Marion County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tye Madison, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Madison has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Joe Aldridge, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten assists.
Marion County's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-8. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.8 points per game. As for Brilliant, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-17 record this season.
Marion County won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Lynn at 6:30 p.m. on February 6th. Lynn will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 273rd, while Marion County is ranked 119th). Brilliant does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
