Basketball Recap: Beech Grove Takes a Loss

Beech Grove lost against Lebanon back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Beech Grove Hornets took a hard 50-36 fall against the Lebanon Tigers.

When it comes to explaining why Beech Grove lost, don't look at Mylee Boling. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. That was a full 44.4% of Beech Grove's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Lebanon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jade Mount led the charge by going 9 of 13 on her way to 19 points and four blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Claire Boling, who went 7 of 12 on her way to 14 points in addition to six boards and five steals.

Beech Grove's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Lebanon, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

The future could be bright for both Beech Grove and Lebanon: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Beech Grove will try to hand Lawrenceburg their fifth-straight defeat when the two meet at 10:00 a.m. on January 3, 2025. Similarly, Lebanon will try to hand Perry Meridian their tenth-straight loss when the two meet at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday.
