New Jerusalem Christian Academy had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They escaped with a win on Thursday against the Grace Christian Patriots by the margin of a single free throw, 36-35. The 36-point effort marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

New Jerusalem Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Elijah Marcellus led the charge by dropping a double-double with 18 points and ten boards. Marcellus has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jayden Reid, who posted seven points along with eight boards and five assists.

New Jerusalem Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.1 points over those games. As for Grace Christian, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 21-1.
