Volleyball Recap: La Jolla Vikings vs. Point Loma Pointers
If La Jolla was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Lincoln on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Vikings fell 3-1 to the Point Loma Pointers on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pointers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.
La Jolla started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-22, 25-15, 25-13.
Point Loma was led to victory by Olivia Karvelis and Reece Thomas. Karvelis had 13 digs and eight assists, while Thomas had eight digs and two aces. Karvelis is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 11 games she's played.
