Shades Valley took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They strolled past Pell City with points to spare, taking the game 59-45. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Mounties as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Pleasant Grove lost 58-36 to Fairfield on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now lost nine in a row.

Shades Valley's win bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Pleasant Grove, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-11.
