Basketball Game Preview: Colerain Cardinals vs. Fairfield Indians

Colerain hasn't had much luck against Fairfield recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Colerain Cardinals will host the Fairfield Indians at 1:45 p.m. Colerain will be strutting in after a win while Fairfield will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Colerain turned things around against Western Hills on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Mustangs 55-10. That 45 point margin sets a new team best for the Cardinals this season.

Meanwhile, Fairfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They fell 58-45 to Sycamore. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 350th, while the Aviators are ranked 144th).

Colerain's victory ended a 17-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-11. As for Fairfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-14.
