Basketball Recap: Leake County Comes Up Short

Leake County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 37-25 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sebastopol Bobcats. The match marked the Gators' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Defeat or not, Leake County got some senior leadership from Daishone Turner and Sy'Ariah Wraggs. Turner posted 11 points along with six rebounds and four steals, while Wraggs had nine points in addition to eight blocks and five boards. Turner is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games she's played dating back to last season.

Leake County's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Sebastopol, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-4.

Leake County will head out to square off against McAdams at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Leake County is facing McAdams at the right time seeing as McAdams is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Sebastopol, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Sebastopol Bobcats challenge the Noxapater Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
