Volleyball Recap: Legacy College Prep Comes Up Short

Legacy College Prep lost against USC Hybrid back in September of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Lions took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans. While the Lions didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Trojans 25-15 in the first set.

Legacy College Prep started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 15-25, 25-21, 25-23, 25-16.

USC Hybrid's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sarah Tovar led the charge by getting 11 kills, six aces, and one block. Those six aces gave Tovar a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Marsela Leiva, who had five digs and five aces.

Legacy College Prep now has a losing record of 1-2. As for USC Hybrid, they pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Legacy College Prep has already played their next game (against Cristo Rey Orange County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for USC Hybrid, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against University Prep Value on the 15th.
