Football Recap: Bellflower Buccaneers vs. Oxnard Yellowjackets
Bellflower was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were dealt a 50-6 loss at the hands of the Oxnard Yellowjackets.
Poni Maria had an outrageously good game for Oxnard as he threw for 135 yards and six touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. Victor Menendez was Maria's top target, picking up 61 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Bellflower's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Oxnard, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
Bellflower will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Rio Hondo Prep at 7:00 p.m. on September 20th.
