Baseball Recap: Troy Gets the Win

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Troy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They came out on top against the Cohoes Tigers by a score of 5-4 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). This was a revenge game for the Flying Horses: when they faced off against the Tigers back in April, they had to take a 5-0 defeat.

Mason Galuski made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched 8.2 innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits. Galuski was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with three RBI and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Tyler Dickinson was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April.

Troy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive contests.

Troy's record now sits at 5-9. As for Cohoes, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-6.

Coming up, Troy will face off against Lakeland at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Cohoes, they will square off against Mohonasen at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
