While Teutopolis' win against Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wooden Shoes had just enough and edged out Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg 4-3. The victory continues a trend for the Wooden Shoes in their matchups with Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg: they've now won five in a row.
Alyssa Tipton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 12 Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Malea Helmink, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season.
Meanwhile, Tolono Unity was not the first on the board on Friday, but they got there more often. They were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over Paris. Considering the Rockets have won ten games by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Tolono Unity also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Danika Eisenmenger gave up only one earned run on five hits and racked up nine Ks.
At the plate, Reese Frye was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Jenna Adkins, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Tolono Unity kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Paris only managed five hits.
Tolono Unity's win bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Teutopolis, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5.
