Softball Recap: Lee Park Prep Drops Season-High Score on Concord Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lee Park Prep). They blew past the Concord Academy Eagles 21-3 on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Knights considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Ansley Green made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. She also tossed three walks, marking her first of the season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Nevaeh Alexander was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Addison Swann was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple.

Lee Park Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .575. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Concord Academy only posted an OBP of .417.

The victory got Lee Park Prep back to even at 6-6. As for Concord Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lee Park Prep will venture away from home to face off against Oak Level Baptist Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Conquerors will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight. As for Concord Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge SouthLake Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on the 22nd.
