Basketball Recap: Wilcox Central Comes Up Short

Wilcox Central has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 72-68 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hatch Bobcats. The Jaguars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bobcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.

Wilcox Central's loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Hatch, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-2.

Wilcox Central and Hatch should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. Wilcox Central (ranked 105th) will meet Thomasville (ranked 287th) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Similarly, Hatch will take on Keith at 7:00 p.m. on Friday up 121 places (116 vs. 237).
