Recap: Otis-Bison Cougars vs. Ness City Eagles
The Otis-Bison Cougars's game last Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 52-45 victory over Ness City. For Otis-Bison, this counts as revenge for the 41-18 loss Ness City walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Ness City's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Monica Jordan, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds, and Ashlyn Tillitson who scored eight points along with 15 rebounds and four steals. It was the first time this season that Jordan scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Alexis Gabel, who scored ten points.
Even though they lost, Ness City smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Otis-Bison's win bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Ness City, they now have a losing record at 8-9.
Otis-Bison will be playing at home against Macksville at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Otis-Bison will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 285th, while Macksville is ranked 113th). As for Ness City, they will head out on the road to take on Central Plains at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Ness City focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday.
