Basketball Recap: St. Joseph Academy Skates Past Austintown-Fitch with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Joseph Academy). They took their matchup on Saturday with ease, bagging a 67-32 win over the Austintown-Fitch Falcons. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-18.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. Joseph Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kate Mocho, who went 6 for 10 on her way to 16 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Bree White, who went 5 of 7 en route to 11 points.

The victory got St. Joseph Academy back to even at 2-2. As for Austintown-Fitch, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 2-2.

St. Joseph Academy will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Magnificat at 7:00 p.m. Magnificat will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something St. Joseph Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Austintown-Fitch, they will take on Ursuline at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Austintown-Fitch is facing Ursuline at the right time seeing as Ursuline is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
