After losing to Lawrence the last time they met, Gardner-Edgerton decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Trailblazers were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Lions on Thursday. That looming 3-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Trailblazers yet this season.

Gardner-Edgerton walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-20, 25-16.

Hayden Meats paced Gardner-Edgerton's offense, picking up 18 kills. Meats got some help from Emma Arel and her 16 assists. Arel also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Tori Thompson, racking up three apiece.

With the win, Gardner-Edgerton broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-3. As for Lawrence, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Gardner-Edgerton will square off against rival Shawnee Mission West at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Lawrence is set to face off against their familiar foe Shawnee Mission South at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
