Baseball Game Preview: Don Bosco Dons vs. Riceville Wildcats

Don Bosco is 9-1 against Riceville since June of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Dons are taking a road trip to challenge the Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. Don Bosco's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Riceville's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Don Bosco is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Mediapolis just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 4-3. The game marked the Dons' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Riceville made easy work of Clarksville on Friday and carried off a 10-3 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Riceville picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 3-4. As for Don Bosco, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2.

Don Bosco came out on top in a nail-biter against Riceville in their previous matchup back in June of 2024, sneaking past 11-10. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
