Basketball Game Preview: Wasilla Warriors vs. West Anchorage Eagles

The Wasilla Warriors and the West Anchorage Eagles will face off at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Wasilla is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They took down Palmer 61-46. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Moose: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, West Anchorage faced Dimond in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. West Anchorage sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 58-56 victory over Dimond. The game was the first time the Eagles have beaten the Lynx on their court since March 22, 2023.

Wasilla's win bumped their record up to 19-10. As for West Anchorage, their victory bumped their record up to 14-16.

Wasilla couldn't quite finish off West Anchorage in their previous matchup back in February of 2020 and fell 64-61. Can Wasilla avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
