Baseball Recap: Nucla Takes a Loss

Nucla dropped their record down to 7-6 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They fell just short of the Ignacio Bobcats by a score of 9-8. The Mustangs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bobcats earlier this season, when they won 4-3.

Josh Platt made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Nucla is 3-1 when Platt posts three or more hits, but 4-5 otherwise. Keegan Tackett also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

As for Ignacio, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted against Nucla since May 3, 2022.

On Ignacio's side, Max M was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those two runs gave M a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole W, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

While Nucla had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
