Preview: Scotts Hill Lions vs. Riverside Panthers
Scotts Hill and Riverside are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The Scotts Hill Lions will head out on the road to challenge the Riverside Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Scotts Hill entered their tilt with Adamsville with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Scotts Hill was the clear victor by a 66-44 margin over Adamsville. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Scotts Hill has posted since November 28, 2023.
Riverside fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They managed a 56-51 victory over Madison on Friday.
Riverside found their leader in underclassman Jack Cupples, who scored 13 points. James Harralston was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds.
Scotts Hill's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Riverside, their victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-11.
Scotts Hill didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Riverside when the teams last played back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 78-72 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Scotts Hill since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
