Baseball Game Preview: Kennebunk Rams vs. Scarborough Red Storm

Kennebunk hasn't had much luck against Scarborough recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Rams will host the Red Storm at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Kennebunk is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came out on top against Massabesic by a score of 12-7 on Thursday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Rams' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

The team relied heavily on Brady Stone, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Davis, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Kennebunk always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Scarborough put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Falmouth a 1-0 shutout.

Falmouth's batters probably weren't too happy with Erik Swenson, who pitched a no hitter and racked up nine Ks (he gave up a single walk).

On the hitting side, Scarborough's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Finn Coburn, who went 2-for-3 with one run. Cam Wellman also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Scarborough's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. As for Kennebunk, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.
